We're back from a very successful weekend jaunt to Cape Cod, and we're thrilled to report that Harry traveled very well. We were worried about taking him away from the only bed and room he has known since his arrival, but he seemed excited about the Cape House from the moment he walked in the door, as if he knew it was a fun place to be. He napped, he slept through the night, he ate well at meals, and he ran around the place like he owned it. And his parents breathed a huge sigh of relief!
We spent Saturday with Harry's Grandma and Grandpa Sullivan, lounging around, drinking lots of tea, and going out for a yummy fish dinner (yup, I had chowdah!). On Sunday we took Harrison to Craigville Beach for his first view of the Atlantic Ocean...in his words: "Wow! Wow, Ma, Wow!" He loved the waves and seagulls, and thought the seashells were tasty (he must have because every time we looked away he shoved another one in his mouth). Brendan and I both love the ocean, and to say we really enjoyed taking our son there for the first time is a huge understatement...it was an awesome moment.
The good news is, this won't be our last trip to the Cape House...we have to go back one more time because we're taking more than just a few momentos...we're taking a bedroom set, a couch, chairs, and some other assorted items. Anyone who knows me knows that I cannot turn down free furniture, especially when we have a nearly completed basement to furnish. And the bedroom set? Well, it has twin beds; one for Harry and one for Baby the Second. I am keeping the dream alive, little by little.
Even better news is that tomorrow we three head to aforementioned local hotel and indoor waterpark for three days of 80 degree fun while the rest of New York has flurries and cold rain. To think I almost cancelled our reservations last week when it was nice out! I expect I won't be able to post until the weekend, but I plan on giving a full review of the facilities and park for thos eof you who have not been there yet. And now I'm off to pack my bathing suit, t-shirts, and shorts. Farewell!
well, if god is giving you furniture, he must be planning on giving you a 2nd baby. Or maybe this is simply the work of Furniture Jesus. It's really hard to say which it is, I guess.
